Doing things outside of ourselves and our families for the betterment of others is also a commitment of the Allison Insurance Group. I personally have volunteered on numerous non-profit, church, civic club, career-oriented, and community boards over the scope of my adult life. Currently, my time is spent with the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, the Jackson State Community College Foundation Board, and the Insurors of Tennessee Board. I recently completed my term as Chairman of the Trustees for Northside United Methodist Church. In addition to dedicating my time, I also believe strongly in supporting the community financially especially for causes that involve children, feeding the needy, supporting people with disabilities, helping the homeless and less fortunate, the Arts, and other similar programs such as churches, schools, and the Chamber that exist for the betterment of our Community. We will continue to encourage our associates to volunteer in our Community and in their churches and other venues that improve the quality of life for all of us by allowing them time away from work and providing tickets or sponsorships to participate in many community events and programs. I believe strongly in the “trickle up” effect—that if each of us will help the “less fortunate’’ in our society, then they, in turn, will be better able to become who they are created to be. If you are not already involved in the community, I encourage you to find a place to plug in!! I know that together we can make an impact on the lives of many! ---Chris Allison
