Seven teams of local architects, engineers and designers are competing in the 8th annual competition. Participating teams are from Bodine Aluminum, Fellowship Bible Church, First Christian Youth Group, Gerdau, JEA, Regional Hospital, Vaughn Associates Architects and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School.
At the close of the exhibition, all of the food used in the structures is donated to the RIFA Food Bank to use and distribute to other nonprofits in the Jackson-Madison County area that serve individuals, food pantries and shelters.
RIFA is a local Christian non-profit organization which addresses the needs of the disadvantaged through the RIFA Soup Kitchen, Thrift Store, Food Bank, Snack Backpack program and emergency relief services.
RIFA appreciates all of the food and goods that will be donated but they need help getting it out to the community! Volunteer opportunities are available for everyone, including individuals, families, corporate groups, civic groups, church groups, school groups and others.
