The old school way of teaching Social Studies was thrown aside as 5th grade teachers at the University School of Jackson(USJ) moved away from textbooks and focused on a creative and innovative teaching method incorporating student-centered and hands on learning! The Passport Curriculum allows students to “visit” exciting places in Japan, Germany, France, and Mexico and study the country’s culture, history, language, and food.

Over 100 USJ students, teachers, and parents will gather on the USJ campus for The Amazing Race event on Tuesday, May 15th, from 10am to 11:30am to celebrate this past year of “traveling around the world” as the students team up to compete in games related to each of the countries they have studied.

We ask that you join us for the Amazing Race to learn more about this creative and innovative Passport curriculum for USJ students!

When: Tuesday, May 15th from 10am- 11:30am
Where: University School of Jackson Campus-Baseball field area

Allison Allen graduated from the prestigious acting program at Carnegie Mellon University. From there she soon landed on Broadway in the revival of Grease, where she stayed for nearly two years, completing 650 performances. She has since performed with Women of Faith as their dramatist for the past three years. <![CDATA[An Evening of 65 Roses]]>Wed, 07 Mar 2012 12:58:52 -0800http://www.allison-ins.com/2/post/2012/03/an-evening-of-65-roses.htmlPicture

"65 Roses" is what some children with cystic fibrosis call their disease because the words are much easier for them to pronounce. But, making it easier to say does not make CF any easier to live with. The "65 Roses" story has captured the hearts and emotions of all who have heard it, and the rose, appropriately the ancient symbol of love, has become a symbol of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Tasting Stations provided by Coyote Blues, Red Bones, Premier Place Catering, Back Yard Barbecue, Gourmet Your Way, Covered N Blessings, Elegant Events by Mike & Troy, Flatiron, and desserts by Dumplins & The Cupcake Company in Alamo!

Entertainment provided by Brandon Lay and band. Incredible live and silent auction items. All the fun and food you could want - to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Tickets and sponsorships may be purchased online.
